Friday 27th July
Currently just sitting around in the lounge having breaky before we embark on a day's outing with Brett, who has taken today off work to join us. .
Brett's place is built around a large grassed courtyard. We were sitting here with the windows wide open when a lawn mowing tractor thingy came right up with the driver almost ready to shake hands with us. This was followed by a weed eating chap and then a blower guy. It was just as well Brett jumped up after the mower and shut all the windows up tight. Brett's only window to be seen is the furthest ground level windon on the left wing.
We walked a lot this afternoon. Had lunch at Mercato Metropolitano, a market not unlike the Markeeta market on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Mercato Metropolitano
We shared a German platter that was more than we could eat. The bus is actually a hot house and is a base for learning about plants and horticulture.

The dining market a walk away from Brett's place.
We wandered back down Bermondsey Street stopping off at a coffee / gelato shop and then later a chemist for Grant's new glasses and the Bermondsey Yard Bar for a jug of Pimms. We couldn't make it past a french cake shop without a small purchase for after dinner. Soon after that the rain that had held off for weeks in London, finally let loose. We got quite wet but it didn't last and we made it back to Brett's not much the worse for wear.
It's just gone 6pm and the thunder and lightning are going great, but the rain is quite light. Still hot but now humid as well. We had dinner at Brett's tonight. Too tuckered out to go out for a meal.
The temperature has finally dropped a few degrees. Here's hoping for a better night's sleep tonight.
