Saturday 18th August - LHR to KUL
Depart LHR 1045
Here we go, just after 5am and we are up and getting ready to close the bags and start the move to Heathrow. Grant retrieved the car from the street and it's now parked up outside of the house. Brett got up just after 6am so we are having final chats. He has decided to say his goodbyes from home, rather than go to the airport.
We seemed to be very lucky in finding the best lane to be in, in the traffic. GPS was warning us of a 45 minute hold up because of crash near Heathrow. This had improved to around 30 by the time we became effected by it. We dropped off the car at Hertz and were soon into the departure area, buying a Bayleys and ready to head to Penang.

The flight was fine and even the transfer to Penang was not too bad. We had to contend with two gate changes for the KUL - PEN flights but had enough time up our sleeves to handle that okay. As it happened there was an issue with a wheel on our plane so the flight was delayed around 40 minutes.
We arrived at Penang without Grant's suitcase arriving with us. To save pulling two cases and also because of less luggage now, Grant had packed his cabin bag inside of the suitcase, so everything of his was missing. See tomorrow's page for details.
