Sunday 26th August - PEN to KUL to AKL
Depart Penang 2055 - Arrive Kuala Lumpur 2200 - Depart Kuala Lumpur 2325
We have been given a 2hr extension till 2pm checkout. Just gone 3pm and we have paid the bill and biding time in the Cool Lounge.
We are going to get a Grab to the airport. We have been quoted RM41 so have kept 50 in cash. We are concerned that the cars we have used so far, might struggle with our 4 bags. We will see.
We did see and it was all fine. Nice driver who is actually a practising physician drives part time. We chatted quite a bit on the way to the airport and even refuelled the car. We had heaps of time so we drove via a more scenic route. On arrival we asked about an earlier flight to KL but said no go. We just thought the longish wait might be nicer in KL than here. We did check in and got rid of the big bags. Now sitting in McDs having had a drink and a fillet o fish for Grant. Still a couple of hours to shed before we can board the plane.
We stayed as long as we thought we could get away with and then went for a walk to the end of the terminal. There we found some folks we had got to know a little about in the resort. They were heading out on a Qatar flight to Edinburgh. We had a chat before their queue moved on.
Having seen all we wanted to see in this part of the airport, we went through the security stuff to air side. It is much nicer in here than we expected. Not as fancy as most newer airports, but by the standards we expect here, okay.
We are getting quite tired of all the waiting and hanging around. We are simply looking forward to getting these flights done and dusted. Not too long before we board the first of three, to Kuala Lumpur.
