Sunday 5th August - London
Predicting a very warm day so we will head off into London Town for some retail action. Grant walked to the local supermarkets early in the day to buy a few bits we needed. We have looked at various bus options for the trip into town. Seems like it's a matter of where the walking is to be done, not so much of how much walking.
We had another nice lunch, this time at Pastaia near Barnaby Street in the city.
Turned out be another hot day as predicted. Public transport is so hot!
Hamley's toy shop queue just before its midday opening. They had a Harry Potter theme going, so lots of young fans excited to be going inside.
Poor old Big Ben is undergoing some maintenance. This whole area is wrapped and scaffolded for years to come.
Looking towards Barnaby Street from the Pastaio restaurant in Ganton Street.
Apple has just released its latest version of the humble ear phone bud. The idea appears to be, rather than hide these things inside one’s ears you show off these dawky white tubes hanging from your ear hole. I suppose this has some merit for those who like to display their allegiance to the crass profiteering company that as a result has more cash reserves than most of the countries in this world. I only say this because they have started to make their appearance on the people on the streets of London. Standby New Zealand (/Bridgette?).
