Thursday 26th July
Great night's sleep has made us feel a little more human. Still very warm inside and out. We are now enjoying a cuppa before Brett heads off to work and we go to the supermarket for a few bits and pieces.
Late morning we bussed to find a "three" shop to purchase our SIM cards. Found the area okay but didn't know where the actual store was. Stopped at a Costa and had a cold drink each. Caught up with Brett while there and he directed us to the shop and then headed off to work again. We got a lot of help from the European woman in the store and we were soon up and running with Grant's phone and knew what we needed to do to Pip's when we got hers off the charger at home. Back home for a cuppa and a beer before getting readied for dinner at a local tonight. It's been around 27degrees here most of the day. Makes getting around a little tough, but we're not complaining.
Brett came home from work and before too long we were walking to Bermondsey High Street to find a nice place to have a drink and dinner. Everything looked quite busy so Brett asked at a place he and Philippa had been to before now called Flour and Grape and arranged a to take a table that would be ready in about thirty minutes. It had a bar cellar so it was off down there to try an Aperol Spritz each - very pleasant in this hot weather. Right on time the phone rang to say our table was ready. We had a nice pasta each and some wines making a nice dinner out in a pleasant but noisy restaurant. Back at home we prepared to tackle another nights sleep in 20 degrees or more.
