Tuesday 24th July - WGN to AKL to KUL
Depart Wellington 1645 - Arrive Auckland 1750 - Depart Auckland 2240

We lazed around till mid morning and then Ubered to the Farmers shop on Lambton Quay. Not nice weather, but not actually raining either. Had a cuppa in David Jones along with a little breakfast style snack. All good now at midday, back in room making a coffee on the Nespresso gizmo. We were out of the room at 1pm as required and spent about an hour lazing around the bar area watching the world go by. We thought we may as well be at the airport a little earlier than needed rather than wait around here so we organised an Uber and we were soon whisked away to begin our real journey. All went well and the flight to Auckland departed and arrived on time. |

Here we are getting pretty bored of the waiting in Wellington Airport. When we did arrive in Auckland we found that we could not progress to the lounge facility before we had our boarding passes. Because of the systems used by Air NZ and Malaysia Airlines, we needed to wait till the check in counter opened before we could get them. We hung around for about an hour, wasting the time we had paid for to use the lounge. All good now though. Fed and watered and also showered before the long haul to Kuala Lumpur and then on to Heathrow. |
