Wednesday 22nd August
A much quieter day here today. Grant spent a little while in the pool and then caught up with Philippa who was reading a book in Lobby Lounge. We had a few fish bites there for lunch. Pip loves a Tiger beer so washed it down with one of those. Grant grabbed the 100 Plus soft drink from the room fridge and returned to drink that with the fish. It has rained a lot today, sometimes torrential. We gathered up some laundry and borrowed a couple of brollies from the concierge and walked across the road to where we used to have the laundry done. That place no longer exited so we found another, attached to a shoddy hotel. It more expensive that it should be, but we left it with the guy for us to collect in a couple of hours. We made it back without getting wet.
We wanted to find out what the Lone Pine (next door) did in the way of manicures and dinners so we waited for the rain to lighten up and walked there. We were walking up the drive to the Lone Pine when the skies opened up again. Grant ran to the main resort building. Philippa found cover near a car park. After a few minutes Philippa made it the rest of the way. She checked out the nail place and Grant, the restaurant. We waited another 20 minutes or so and made it back to our resort without getting too wet. Philippa was not impressed with the different hairdo she now has.
