Wednesday 8th August - Stockholm
We fly Luton to Stockholm at 18:30 arriving at 22:00.
Luntmakargatan 59, 113 58 Stockholm, Sweden
We walked to a bus stop to get to a local train to take us to St Pancras. A little confusion there before we realised that we needed to go to St P International. Bought one way tickets okay and we were soon on our way to Luton in a very full carriage. From the Luton train stop to the transfer bus was quite a walk. All good though, but the short bus transfer saw us crammed in pretty tight. At border control, Grant went straight through, but the other two were stopped and were given the old shoes off trick. We found a very nice bar where we had a light dinner and Grant also finished off his Sainsbury sandwich from lunch. We bought 2 700ml bottles of Baleys. After arriving in plenty of time we still ended up at the end of the queue to board the plane. At that point we were told that we could only have a single bag each on the plane with us. We madly chucked our small hand bags into the cabin bags, so we could satisfy their demands. Oddly Easyjet does not have a weight restriction on cabin bags. The plane's departure was now being delayed. We made it up the stairs to the rear entrance of the aircraft, only to find that they had run out of room in the overhead lockers and we now needed to remove any valuables, medication and other items needed from our bags, so they could be labelled and placed in the hold. A further delay for the plane and we weren't the only ones having to do this. It all came together before too long and we were on our way to Stockholm. Good flight and for some reason we had been allocated an excape row on both journies so the extra free legroom was a real bonus. Bags were very quick to arrive on the belt in the airport. Officious prick at border control.

On our arrival, were yet another hour lost to time changes. The train to the city was very efficient and so fast, reaching 180 kph at times. We Ubered to the Airbnb (or somewhere near it) and after a little help from a friendly local, we found the door to the apartment block that was to be our home for a couple of days. Kristina the landlady met us there. We got our instructions, downed a whole bottle of Baleys and hit the sack.
